Dear Friend,
Welcome to the Web Page of
First Baptist Church, Chappell Hill. For the past 25 years our church
fellowship has been a part of the Chappell Hill community. Located between
Brenham and Hempstead on U.S. HWY 290, which is the main artery between
Houston and Austin, Texas, Chappell Hill is a variegated community of
farming, “Old South,” small town, and large city suburbia. The
Postmistress of the town’s small post office says that our community is
represented by about 400 post office boxes and about 700 rural mailboxes.
The Historical Society, which keeps up the historical edifices in our
town, some of which date to before the Civil War, hosts two giant fund
raisers each year – the Bluebonnet Festival in the spring, and Scarecrow
Festival in the fall – which can bring in some times over 10,000 people
from out of town on the festival weekends.
Over the
years, as a church family, we have tried to be a witness to our community
of the grace that we have found in Christ Jesus; a grace, which we
believe, is available to all who would receive it. Our hope is that we
will continue to be a witness in our community and around the world until
Jesus returns.
As you
view our web page, I hope that you will get to know us better. If we can
be of service to you or to someone you know, please do not hesitate to get
in touch with us by any of the several ways given on this web page. In
Christ we try to be ministers whatever the need might be.
In His
Grace,
Pastor David Beckworth
